We had lovely Jason Canning back to work with me to give another Dominican Bachata lesson.
I did warn you that we was going to up it a gear…. Lol. We used more authentic Dominican tracks that were a little faster than what you maybe used to on the dancefloor.
You all did brilliantly.
Hopefully you all understand the difference in the style that we teach, theres lots of footwork, free styling, its sexy with attitude and just simply feeling the music.
Thank you for all your positive feedback. One lady said… ‘this is the style she has been searching for’

Jason also had his first night with LGS as the DJ … And Wow ! He pulled some tunes out of that bag. He knew what the LGS people wanted
He played some lovely Bachata tracks, not the slow romantic stuff but the more up tempo Bachata. It was so good to see so many of you dancing Bachata, especially those that have done our lessons before giving the Dominican style a go !

As usual the LGS crowd showed their appreciation for good music by giving Jason a ‘woop’ and an applause throughout the night.
His last track got a big WOOP and a big applause!!!!!
We are pleased to say Jason will be back to teach and DJ again… He is defo on the DJ rotation

Omg ! Shut-up! Wow !

What a crazy night at the Langthorne last night ……. The evening started off a little mad due to football being on the screen. My apologies to any disruptions this may have caused, unfortunately I was not aware the match would be shown

After the lessons …… Omg ! We had a packed venue with a 12 piece live band Orquesta La Rebellion playing live, . They were absolutely brilliant they sounded great, looked great in their matching crazy shirts lol
The lead singers radiated their energy across the dance-floor the people were hooked and loved it.
The feedback I got was allllllllllll good,
‘love them’ ‘make sure you get them back’ ‘sounds better than a CD’
That was just a few of the things said to me. Everyone danced hard all night ….no-one wanted the band to finished. There were lots of people there for the first time and again the feedback I got was amazing …. ‘Fantastic vibes’ , ‘great crowd’ even the band members said to me …’the vibes were brilliant’ , ‘such a great crowd of people’ ‘there’s not many venues like this’ !!! I had warned the band the Langthorne like to dance hard all night and as usual that’s what you all did. !
I absolutely loved it last night. I am so happy (and still smiling) that people are finally realising how much more you get out of dancing to good live Latin music…. You just can’t beat it I’m still buzzing now !!!!

Well after we have all calmed down after an amazing night hopefully you will all join myself and Jason Canning for Dominican Bachata lesson next wk at the Langthorne. Hopefully this style will change any negative opinions of Bachata just being a ‘line dance’ ..it’s so not. ! Lol

Steevo – Happy Birthday x

What a night lessons were buzzing , the venue was buzzing and the crowd was on FIRE!

Our Steevo celebrated his birthday with us last night and the turn out was brilliant. It just showed what people think about Steevo, he is truly loved by many. I wasn’t sure he would cope with all the ladies for his birthday dance, but he did with ease and a big smile on his face lol.
Thank you to everyone that came and made Steevos night special x

I took some time last night to stand and watch and talk to lots of people. There were so many new faces. We had well over 150 people. It was pretty hot which many mentioned but some how it doesn’t seem to matter lol. It’s part of LGS, it really is for the hardcore dancer.Thank you all for all your positive comments and feedback.

I want to thank Ned and the group from Croydon for their comments. It was their first time at LGS and they said they will definately be back for more and it’s worth the 1.5 hr drive. ! Brilliant

Both Hughie and Steevo played some serious music…music which made it difficult to stand still. The dancefloor was full all night til 1am… Absolutely mental, the LGS crowd have so much energy and love for dance its obvious to anyone that walks through those doors.
We have regulars at the Langthorne that don’t dance salsa and they tell me they just love the vibes and enjoy watching…. I’m sure one day they will take a lesson lol
.

Next week 3rd May it’s live band night with Orquesta La Rebelion a 12 piece band ..it’s going to an amazing night.

Well it was a quiet start to the evening – I had lost my voice lol
Everyone had great fun taking the micky out of poor meeee !
I obviously couldn’t take any lessons so lovely Jenny covered for me … Thank you again Jen x
Lessons were buzzing as usual with Tony & Cally, Steevo & Jasmin.
I am truly lucky to have such a great team of teachers … If you haven’t tried one of our lessons yet, then please do… You will not be disappointed. We are all passionate about salsa & dance, we all know how to have a laugh but ensure are students get want they want and learn at the same time … Join our lessons next week from 8pm.

We had DJ Lee playing his unique style of Latin music. I’m no expert on all the Latin genres, but I will try and describe the vibe of some of his chosen music (maybe Lee will tell us what genre it is). It’s a fusion of Latin Jazz & Funk ! It’s music for the dancers to really let go and express themselves to on the dance floor.
Personally I love it, I don’t know where he finds his music but I don’t hear any other club play anything like it !
Thank you Lee ‘The Killer’ for another fantastic set x

Next week 26th April it’s Steevos birthday bash ! My advise to you all is, get there early it’s going to be a road block ! Steevo and Hughie both will be playing until 1am

Cuba ! 12th April

We had our guest teacher Carlton, from Cuban Vibes start the evening with a Rueda lesson. Everyone did so well and picked up so many moves, it looked fantastic. Carlton has so much energy and passion which shines through in his lessons. He explains quickly but clearly which is why you can learn so much in a short space of time.
Carlton did the warm-up for us, which was done of course in a Cuban stlye.. Thank you Carlton for a great lesson and great warm-up.

Our salsa lessons were busy and full of laughter. We missed our Cally but fingers crossed she will be back next week

After a little hick up with the warm-up track .. Which meant it had to be started all over again lol .. The Cuban vibes began. it was non stop pure Cuban music all night ! Brilliant vibe !

Cuban Combination !!!! 5th April

The evening began with our ladies and men’s shine with Jasmine and Tony. It was so good to hear Jasmines infectious laughter and screams of excitement welcome back Jas x

Our improvers and intermediate lessons were buzzing as usual but I know it was a challenge for the students and teachers due to the noise in the venue … it was a very busy night. Hopefully having the band play percussions for your practice tracks made up for it?!

The Langthorne was buzzing right from the start.. After our warm-up Hughie prepared everyone for the band.
Cuban Combination ….wow, omg, fantastic, brilliant, quality !!!
These are just some of the words used by the people last night to describe Cuban Combination.
The sound quality of their set was spot-on, pure quality. Again the few people that had doubts about live music, soon changed their minds after last night. The band had the floor heaving non-stop. No body wanted their set to end. The band received the biggest cheers given so far at the Langthorne… The crowd cheered and chanted for more.. And they got it !!!
I was almost warned by many people last night ‘you better get them back’
Lol don’t worry I plan to.

A big big thank you to Cuban Combination, your a band that is only going to grow in popularity.. Please remember me when your at Wembley!

I got to also say thank you DJ Hughie who continued the vibes and the energy of the band til 1am ( ish )
Hughie dropped tune after tune !
I’m sure I’ve said it before but Langthorne really is the place to be for the hardcore salsa dancers … In the Langthorne if your not dancing with someone you still gonna stand in your spot and dance !
Thank to everyone that made the effort and wore a touch of yellow or came as Bunnies lol.
I hope you all enjoyed you Easter eggs and chocolates complimentary of LGS.

Next week it’s our pure Cuban night with guest teacher Carlton, teaching Rueda from 7.45.
Sharky DJ will be playing the best Cuban vibes until 12am !

What a night ! Yes my feet are killing me ! Which is allllllll gooooood !
It means it was a night of dance after dance after dance. .
Steevo was on fire …from beginning to end he played an excellent mix of Latin vibes that meant it was difficult just to sit and watch ! You had to get up and dance be it on your own or with a partner . Fantastic vibes Steevo , thank you x

Langthorne has built a reputation of the place to be if your into the music and want to sweat & dance all night…:-)

Next week our Jasmine is back from her well deserved holiday ! Woop woop, she has been missed. She will return to take her regular ladies shines lesson @ 8pm.

Remember also it’s live music night next week with Cuban Combination and DJ Hughie til 1am. There’s an Easter theme of wear a touch of yellow and there will Easter bunny girls giving away free chocolate!

‘The Killer’ 22nd March

We were missing both Cally and Jasmine last night but don’t worry Cally back next week and Jasmine the week after

It was a little quiet as the evening began but in a blink of an eye there was a complete turn-around. The floor was buzzing as usual.
We had DJ Lee aka ‘the Killer’ playing some serious Mambo tracks. I think some of you are understanding now why we call him ‘The Killer’ lol my feet are killing me!
The Langthorne have a crowd of people that want to dance hard alllllllll night. Their energy is amazing and they won’t allow the DJs to bring the tempo down too low lol

The Langthorne ..for the hardcore dancer. !
